About This Workshop
In this workshop, we will begin by addressing why the ways double-digit addition and subtraction have traditionally been taught do not work for all your students. We will then explore how we can create a classroom culture that encourages all students to believe that they can learn math and, with their actions, show us that they can figure out solutions. Various strategies and models for addition and subtraction for single-digit math facts will be shared and then connected and expanded to strategies with double-digit addition and subtraction. We will wrap up the workshop with many free resources that will assist you as you explore and implement this content with your students.
