About This Workshop

If teaching science to your elementary students feels boring, but you've felt stuck and unsure about how to change things, this mini workshop is for you. It doesn’t have to be this way and I want to help you capture students' attention when you introduce a scientific concept. I want to help you become the Bill Nye of your classroom:

To help you get there, we’ll begin by exploring why it’s important to differentiate between textbook and classroom experiences. Then we’ll talk about how these science lessons might look like in your elementary classroom. Afterwards, we’ll dive into how we might prepare a lesson for a particular science concept (i.e. astronomy, ecology, anything!). Then we’ll learn about the different ways that we can capture our students’ attention when we first introduce this concept. Finally, we will learn about strategies of how to best facilitate a science lesson.
